Fixed charges, price caps, and written quotes

We provide free written quotes and have fixed prices, so you'll always know what you pay for. Our work is guaranteed, and there's always the free phone support about the problem after we've fixed it.

Basic charge

This is our basic charge for on-site service. It includes up to 1 hour on site working on your computer. After 1 hour, the labour fees drop to $55.00 per additional hour (see below).
Thereafter, hourly charge

Flat fee - cost per additional hour for labour - charged in 10 minute blocks, but capped at a maximum of $175.00 per problem (unless quoted otherwise).
Training
$55.00
1 on 1 onsite personalised training. Flat fee per hour (no cap). Minimum charge $55.00.
System "rebuild"
(Windows reinstallation)
Capped at max: $175.00
Complete Windows "rebuild": Data backup, Windows reinstallation & registration, software installation and configuration, email and internet setup, data reinstallation, printer setup, network setup, all additional item setup (eg scanner, speakers, microphone, webcam, etc). Cost calculated at general callout and hourly charge rates, but capped at a maximum of $175.00 - no more to pay. NB - this does not include new hardware, or software not provided prior to work start.

Data recovery
USB drive / removable media (camera cards etc)

$44.00 inspect fee
$55.00 recovery fee

We charge $44.00 to come and inspect your damaged data on removable media (USB drives, camera cards, floppy disks etc).. We will attempt to recover it onsite for 30 minutes. If we can, this is all you pay. If we cannot recover your data on the spot, we will take your media back to our lab for more sophisticated recovery. If we are successful, we charge an extra $55.00. If not, you only pay the $44.00 inspection fee. Please refer to our Data Recovery page for more information.
Data recovery
Hard Disk Drives

$44.00 inspect fee
$100.00 recovery fee

We charge $44.00 to come and inspect your damaged Hard Disk Drive data. We will attempt to recover it onsite for 30 minutes. If we can, this is all you pay. If we cannot recover your data on the spot, we will take your media back to our lab for more sophisticated recovery. If we are successful, we charge an extra $100.00. The fine print

Please note that depending on the task or the problem encountered, we reserve the right to alter our pricing rate or cap by providing an alternative quote. We will only do this with your consent and only after advising you in writing of all costs (this mainly applies to large or complex jobs, which require many hours of work). Of course you can always opt out if you choose without any penalty.

Warranty and support: All labour and repairs are guaranteed for a minimum of 6 months (unless stated otherwise), with free follow up phone support during this 6 month period (subject to "fair" usage). All hardware supplied is covered by the standard manufacturer's warranty. This is usually 12 or 24 months.

Unfortunately our warranty does not apply to repairs or work undertaken that is later damaged by virus, spyware, trojans, malware, other software installations or corruptions, or system configuration changes made after the repairs occurred.

Data recovery: Where 1 file is "lost", we consider recovery "successful" if we recover that file. If more than 1 file is lost, we consider recovery "successful" if we recover 65% or more of the "lost" files.

While we make every effort to back-up all data before undertaking any work, we accept no responsibility or liability for any data loss whatsoever, whether our responsibility or not, and we accept no liability whatsoever for any consequences thereof for any data loss.
